Here is a  video of
Daniel & Desierée performing their 'Taller de bachata en Málaga'
The music is romantic with a male singing beautiful falsetto. This dance couple incorporate some gorgeous moves with sensuality, fluidity and a few tricks added in.  Watch from 2 minutes in for the more interesting choreography.

Tips for an effective Workout

Check out this info page from Beachbody* for tips to enhance your workout.
I discovered
Shaun T's Insanity Workout whilst performing on the Thomson Majesty Cruise Ship earlier this year. As a Showteam we would have an hour of fitness, in addition to our hour rehearsal daily before our two shows, and often a late-night Cabaret. This is what rekindled my enjoyment in fitness as the workouts are a 60 day plan of exercises that incorporates movements from sports, boot-camp and general aerobics/fitness. Instead of doing various sets and reps and having a long break in between, Shaun T puts that on its head and does a succession of high energy exercise sets and often only gives you a 30-second break to catch your breath and get water. It's what is called max interval training. It's tough and not for the faint-hearted (some of my Showteam vomited initially!) but you get fantastic results in fitness, strength and your aesthetic.
If that doesn't grab you, even the Army and Marines do these workouts -and find it tough! So if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

GOTYE -how to and variants from around the world...

Gotye is a gem of an artist that I discovered a while before he came onto the mainstream scene, and since then he has caught the attention and intrigue of many music lovers around the world -as you can see from the clip above.  His voice is very distinctive and if you've read anything that he's
written about himself and his creative insights, you'll discover what a quirky and amusing person he is.  His use of samples (Baa baa black sheep nursery rhyme utilised in 'Somebody that I used to know'), different genres and pertinent phrasing with lyrics really struck me. He is not your average musician nor pop artist. His music can often sound like a world that's been completely conjured all of its own and he incorporates art, be it paint  or animation, in a fresh and intriguing way. Check out his first song that came to be well known; it's what initially drew me to his music. I love the use of art, drama of story and striking voices.

Competitiveness: hindrance? or helpful?

http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2013/09/do_your_kids_need_more_competi.html

Competitiveness; something I believe to be of use to people, particularly in the formative years of childhood. Some say competitiveness can lead to unhealthy attitudes towards others or causes pressure upon oneself, but I believe it is both good and an aid to life skills, particularly with regards to attaining jobs; as a sense of drive, the desire to strive to be the best you can and a degree of self belief are all attributes in the task that is job hunting and interviewing.
