A man once wished for me beauty, music, poetry and love.
It was what I would wish though thought not all may arrive.
A time ago I scrawled my frustration, the lack of gold, of sterling forthright men.
For they would swarm around like butterflies, flittering and flattering, with charming
Chatter their words would flutter, but words fall flatter when lacking true intent.
I'd ponder if one would ever pierce through the silk,
See the depth, venture deeper, see the true shades and ilk.
If the female dream were wrapped up in eloquently written fiction.
If life- without music and sumptuous country scenes,
Would it satisfy the heart's yearnings for breath-taking love, all-enveloping,
Heart-stopping, that... 'other' love.
Beauty, music, poetry and love shall continue to drive us.
Where they lead is not set, we'll just have to keep venturing and see.
